LETTER TO PARENTS
Dear Parents and Grandparents
Our LJCC Kids for Christ ministry wants to help you and your children anyway we can through this very hard time. We know sudden loss, fear and anxiety affect children in many different ways.
You know your child best so please talk about this together. It is a significant teachable moment to speak with your children about loss, faith, the love of God and hope of heaven. You may want to discuss with your children how to be supportive friends to each other.
Jamey Hunter has graciously agreed to step into Joann’s Sunday AM class. Jamey’s experience and sensitivity to the way children express grief in different ways will be so helpful.
God has also blessed us with a great option for Ms. Joann’s Wednesday night class with Nichole Wilson and Ann Nisbett. Nichole will take the next 2 Wednesday nights before Spring Break and Ann will take the lead on the class after Spring Break to help finish the school year.
We want to let you know that we will be working hard to make both classroom spaces a warm, safe place for your kids to walk through this sadness lovingly and together. We also want to encourage you to send your children even though it will be difficult and will take a great deal of courage.
Over the next few days and weeks we will be posting helpful spiritual resources for you.
Please reach out to someone for help if you need anything, and if we need to know anything unique about how to minister to your student specifically.
